One hole suits standard-sized blacklead pencils, using a narrower sharpening angle to help produce fine, accurate lines. The larger hole suits thick blacklead and coloured pencils, and aids in creating soft, thick lines. This sharpener uses a hinged cover for the holes which ensure that no pencil shavings spill over and no extra mess is created.
